Event: Red is for Love
Date: Wednesday, February 1, 2006
Location: Legal Beans, 86 Garden St (Newark & Garden), Hoboken, NJ
Time: 7:00 PM
This Month it’s all about Red Rioja! There are seven types of grapes used in making Rioja. Four are used for the red variety, which makes up 80% of all production. Three are used for the white variety, which is another 10%. The final 10% is rosé.
Being that February is supposedly the month to celebrate love (yeah, right!), we’re going to go with the Red Rioja grapes used to make, obviously, the Red Rioja wine.
Tasting notes of the varying red Rioja grapes to keep in mind when buying your bottle of Red Rioja:
- Tempranillo - gentle, berry flavor
- Garnacha Tinta - peppery
- Graciano - blackberry
- Mazuelo - tannin
Looking forward to seeing everyone
Cheers,
Janelle
