www.womenofthevine.net Live - Installment 2
Once again, here I am writing about the website. I know, I knowÖhardly the subject for a wine blog, but thereís so many new things on the site, I feel a second installment is warranted. Next time, itíll be all about wine. Scouts honor!
The big news is that the blog feature is now fully realized (or shall I say version 1.1 is). Comments can be added to blog entries, and club members can now create their own blog entries. I hope you find the interface to be intuitive and easy to use. I think itís pretty straightforward, but do read the instructions before posting and happy blogging!
Another new featureóand one that Iím certain everyone will appreciateóis the Remember Me option when logging into the site. If you check the Remember Me checkbox when you login the next time, you wonít be prompted to sign in again when you return to the site in the future from the same computer. Make sure you have cookies enabled for this site, if you experience any trouble with this feature.
If you signed up to join the club online, youíre probably painfully aware that the Join the Club form was not at all easy to complete. A revamp was definitely in order. I believe that the new form aptly rectifies the situation, so you shouldnít have any reservations about encouraging your friends to join the club now. ;-)
You may have also noticed that thereís been a bit of a shuffle in the site navigation. To be honest, Iím still not thrilled with it, but I think it will flesh itself out over the next few weeks. Thereís still much to do here on the site, and Iím certain that the addition of some of the new features that are on the planning board will require a little more tweaking of the navigation. Iíll apologize in advance for any confusion this causes.
Presently, Iím working on finishing off the Rants and Raves section. I hope to have that operational later today. Iíve also been working on some new features related to the member profile. The message center, in particular, is nearly finished and will be live in the next day or two, and I have two additional new features planned that will also allow members to communicate more easily with one another.
Despite the amount of time Iíve been investing in the web site development, my list seems to be growing rather than getting smaller. Scope-creep notwithstanding, please continue to send me your suggestions!
